Debit Mastercard® is the new debit card offered by Atlantic Edge Credit Union. With the features of both a debit and credit card, Debit Mastercard® allows you to shop online and in-store across the globe where Mastercard® is accepted. There is no need to worry about monthly payments or interest charges because the funds come directly from your credit union chequing or savings account.

You will receive your Debit Mastercard® by mail once your current debit card naturally expires, or, if you’d like to get your new AECU Debit Mastercard® right away, you can make a request at any of our branches or by calling us at 1-877-377-3728. Your current debit card will continue to work until it is replaced by a new Debit Mastercard®.

What can my Debit Mastercard® do?

You can use your new Debit Mastercard® to make purchases in-store with funds directly from your chequing or savings account or shop online using funds directly from your chequing account.

• Shop in-store: you can now pay for purchases up to $250 quickly and easily by holding your Debit Mastercard® to an Interac Flash® enabled terminal, without having to insert your card or enter your PIN.
• Shop online: safely use your Debit Mastercard® just like a credit card at any participating online merchant, without worrying about monthly payments or interest charges. (Please note: only use funds directly from your chequing account when shopping online)
• Shop in-store worldwide: You can make debit purchases directly from your credit union account at international merchants that accept Mastercard®.

Interac Flash

Whether it’s a quick trip to the grocery store or your morning cup of coffee, Interac Flash® offers a fast, convenient, and safe way to use your credit union debit card to tap and pay for everyday purchases up to $250 – no PIN required.

How it works

1. Look for the Interac Flash® logo or contactless symbol when making a debit purchase
2. Hold your card within 4cm of the front of the debit terminal
3. Wait for a beep or approval message, letting you know your purchase is complete
4. The amount of your purchase will be debited from your credit union account.
